HSL's Got Talent!
 HSL supplied substantial quantities of ColorWeb and ChromaStrip LED products to the latest ratings-busting series of "Britain's Got Talent" - the high profile and super-hyped final of which saw teenage dance troupe Diversity beat hot favourite, singer Susan Boyle. The series, presented by comedy duo Ant & Dec, was shot over a week in Studios A and B of Fountain Studios, Wembley, London - the largest TV stage in the UK. The studio was packed with excitement, anticipation and a live audience of 750 each night. The highly versatile LED-based set was designed by Dominic Tolfts and featured several different types of LED, all of which were sourced and supplied to the production by Simon Deary of LED Poison who specialises in digital lighting.

Petrol Introduces Rain Poncho for Sound Work
 Petrol, a Vitec Group brand, introduces the Petrol Rain Poncho (PRP-2), practical weather protection for the working soundperson. The Petrol PRP-2 is sized to comfortably cover a user carrying a mixer and fully loaded sound bag like the Petrol Eargonizer. The front section is made of transparent polyurethane for maximum visibility of working equipment. Slotted “pass-through” hand openings on either side provide quick and easy access to the mixer’s controls. Long roomy sleeves provide the freedom to hold a boom pole or other gear at arm’s length and still keep the mixer and equipment bag safe and dry. Two-sided bungee cords and anchor clips adjust the Poncho’s hood to keep out the elements.

Thomson’s HD Technology Spreads the Message At Worldwide Nelson Mandela Concert
The recent star-studded and highly rated “46664” concert celebrating the 90th birthday of Nelson Mandela at Hyde Park in London was broadcast live around the world with Thomson Grass Valley™ high-definition (HD) production equipment. The event is yet another in a continuing list of high-profile telecasts being produced with muitiformat HD cameras and production switchers from Thomson (Euronext Paris: 18453; NYSE: TMS), the worldwide leader in video solutions.
Nearly four million viewers in the UK alone watched HD coverage of the concert celebrating the former South African president, which featured Annie Lennox, Queen, and a host of popular and cultural music acts.

Visions scores at the UEFA Champions League final
NEP Visions has been selected by NTV and RTR in Russia to deliver host broadcast facilities for the UEFA Champions League Final to be held in Moscow on 21 May at the Luznhiki Stadium. The event which has a predicted global audience of 100 million will be the first ever all English UEFA Champions League final. The event is set to be one of the most prestigious and most watched sporting events of the year, with Manchester United taking on Chelsea FC. Visions will be on hand to capture all the action, from every angle using more than 30 cameras and 100 production and technical staff operating out of a large OB production unit and a stand alone VT unit that work together in conjunction, ensuring all of its shots are right on target even if the players might not be.

AXON Showcases additions to the extensive line-up of Synapse modules and premier routers at NAB 08
 Gilze, the Netherlands, March 2008, AXON (Booth #SU11620) announces that product demonstrations at NAB08 will feature its extensive range of Synapse modules, best-in-class broadcast technologies for HD, 3Gb/s-enabled audio/video routers as well as modular products, router control and master control.

AXON modular infrastructure and communications system Synapse is expanded further. After last year’s introduction of its first two 3Gb/s capable modules (the distribution amplifier and the multi-viewer) AXON announces the launch of another eight 3Gb/s capable modules. This expansion of the 3Gb/s capable products consists of four types of upconverters, two downconverters and two up/down/crossconverters. AXON is committed to help broadcasters handle 3Gb/s signals. The launch of another eight modules confirms this, says Harry Kanters AXON’s Director of Marketing & Sales. These modules are also available in an HD/SD-version which can be upgraded to handle 3Gb/s. This is a very useful option for those customers who are not sure if the near future will bring 3Gb/s-signals to their operation. Our solution brings them modules which are prepared to handle these signals but the investment in the actual processing can be done separately.

 Belden manufactures wire and cable broadband solutions that provide the bandwidth needed to build the infrastructure for today's CableTV and satellite dish technology.
